Most
landscape schemes use bollards to keep spaces open and accessible to pedestrians,
whilst providing effective traffic control. We manufacture wooden bollards with
either flat, chamfered, pointed or domed tops in a range of sizes, which would
normally suit rural environments, such as cycle paths and walkways. Chamfered
and pointed (four way weathered) tops are cut to an angle of 42°. The rebate offered
as standard is 30mm wide for the 100 and 125 widths, and 50mm wide for the 150,
175 and 200 widths, though any width of rebate is possible. The smaller sizes
can also be cost effectively used as way markers. Reflective material
to B.S. 873 class 1, in either strips in the rebate around the bollard top, or
flush fitting in panels further down, can be attached to increase visibility.

is supplied in white or red as standard, but other colours are available. The
reflective panels are 63 x 152mm in the 100 and 125 widths, and 100 x 150mm for
the 150, 175 and 200 widths, and are glued and screwed in position.
The standard timber we supply is seasoned European oak. European oak is prone
to movement, which does not look out of place in the informal environments for
which these products are intended, and is described in detail here.
The larger sizes of oak have been air dried for up to ten years, to help reduce
this movement. Purpleheart, balau and iroko can also be specified as alternatives.
The dimensions quoted are nominal sizes, so the finished articles will be around
10% smaller.
